Description

Limoncello is a refreshing Italian liqueur that embodies the bright flavors of summer. This easy homemade recipe transforms simple ingredients into a delightful citrus elixir, perfect for sipping chilled on warm evenings or using in cocktails.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 10 organic lemons (zest only)
  • 1 liter high-proof vodka (100 proof)
  • 3 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 cups filtered water

Instructions

  1. Wash and dry the lemons, then zest them, avoiding the white pith.
  2. In a large glass jar, combine lemon zest and vodka. Seal and let infuse in a cool, dark place for 2 weeks; shake gently every few days.
  3. After 2 weeks, make simple syrup by dissolving sugar in heated water. Let it cool.
  4. Strain the lemon-infused vodka into another jar to remove zest.
  5. Combine the strained vodka with cooled simple syrup, adjusting sweetness to taste.
  6. Transfer to decorative bottles and refrigerate before serving chilled.
