  • 4 cups fresh blueberries
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 large egg
  • ½ cup brown sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8×8 inch baking dish.
  2. In a bowl, mix flour and granulated sugar. Cut in softened butter until crumbly, then stir in the egg.
  3. Press three-quarters of the dough into the bottom of the dish and bake for 15 minutes.
  4. Combine blueberries, granulated sugar, and brown sugar in another bowl; pour over the baked crust.
  5. Roll out remaining dough, cut it into strips, and create a lattice topping over the blueberry filling.
  6. Bake for an additional 30-35 minutes until golden brown and bubbly. Let cool before slicing.
