Ingredients

  • 1 block (14 oz) firm tofu
  • 4 cloves fresh garlic, minced
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 2 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 1 tsp sesame oil

Instructions

  1. Press the tofu for 15 minutes to remove moisture by wrapping it in a towel and placing a weight on top.
  2. Cut the pressed tofu into bite-sized cubes.
  3. In a non-stick skillet over medium heat, melt 2 tablespoons of butter. Add the cubed tofu and sauté until golden brown on all sides (8-10 minutes).
  4. Add minced garlic and sauté for another minute until fragrant; then pour in soy sauce and sesame oil, stirring to coat the tofu evenly.
  5. Stir in the remaining tablespoon of butter until melted, then remove from heat.
  6. Garnish with chopped green onions and serve over steamed rice or alongside fresh vegetables.
