Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet (2 ¼ tsp) active dry yeast
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup warm milk (110°F)
  • ½ cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 2 large eggs
  • For Topping: 1 cup chopped pecans
  • For Topping: 1 cup brown sugar
  • For Topping: 2 tsp ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Warm the milk to about 110°F. In a small bowl, combine yeast and 1 tablespoon of sugar with the warm milk; let sit until frothy (about 5 minutes).
  2. In a large bowl, mix flour, remaining sugar, melted butter, and salt. Add the frothy yeast mixture and beaten eggs; stir until combined into a sticky dough.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth. Let rise in a greased bowl covered with a towel until doubled in size (about 1 hour).
  4. Prepare the topping by heating butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, and chopped pecans in a saucepan until bubbling.
  5. Roll out the risen dough into a rectangle. Spread softened butter over it, sprinkle with cinnamon sugar, roll tightly, and cut into slices.
  6. Place rolls in the prepared topping mix in a baking dish and let rise again for about 30 minutes.
  7. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for about 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
