- 1/4 cup brown sugar
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 300°F (150°C).
- Season pork shoulder generously with salt and pepper.
- In a large Dutch oven, heat oil over medium-high heat. Sear the pork until golden brown on all sides (about 4-5 minutes per side). Remove from pot.
- Sauté onions and garlic in the same pot until fragrant (3-4 minutes).
- Pour in apple cider and chicken broth; scrape up any browned bits from the pot. Stir in brown sugar and thyme.
- Return the pork to the pot, cover tightly, and braise in the oven for about 3 hours until tender.
