  • 1/2 cup (100g) granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup (60ml) whole milk
  • 1/2 cup (65g) all-purpose flour (sifted)
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 320°F (160°C). Grease an 8-inch round cake pan and line the base with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, beat softened cream cheese and sugar until smooth and creamy.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well, then incorporate milk and vanilla extract.
  4. Sift together flour and baking powder in another bowl. Gradually mix into the cream cheese mixture until just combined.
  5. Pour batter into the prepared pan. Place this pan inside a larger pan filled with hot water for steaming. Bake for about 60 minutes or until golden brown on top.
  6. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a cooling rack. Slice and serve with optional toppings.
